Preparations you need to do:

• Mac OS X 10.6 - 10.11

• IDVD is a DVD software which allows Mac users to burn DVD movies, music, and digital images. Downloading iDVD is widely used on older versions of Lion and Mountain Lion operating systems, but it is now ceased on newer versions of Sierra and High Sierra, as well as Mojave.
• To play DVD movies, you need either an internal DVD-compatible drive in your Macintosh or an external DVD drive with a FireWire or USB 2.0 connection. DVD-ROM drives can only play discs, whereas others, such as the SuperDrive, can both play and record discs. Either type of drive works fine for watching movies on your Mac.
• Now, we take a look at how to play DVD on Mac using Remote Disc sharing feature. Click the Apple menu click System Preference Hit the Sharing icon activate the DVD and CD Sharing option in the Shaing list. BTW, the DVD and CD Sharing option will be visible only if your Mac has an optical drive. Open the Finder on another Mac.

• If you choose 'Set Drive Region', you will enter into the region resetting dialogue immediately. Here you should notice that there are only five time for region resetting.

If it works, the Mac Media Player will play the HD DVD automatically, and you will enter into the disc menu. You can make the settings here. Afterward, you can click on the play button to start your HD DVD entertainment by Mac Media Player software.
